Management Profiles

Bob Ticehurst
CEO/Founder

A self-made entrepreneur, Bob has been in the bookselling industry since 2000. Keeping his focus on the continual growth and development of the company has allowed him to take what was once a business he ran out of his parents’ basement to a multi-million dollar company operating out of a 69,000 square foot warehouse. The Used Book Superstore chain includes five retail book store locations that supports a staff of nearly 100 employees.

Alan Arruda
Director of Operations

Working his way up through the company over the past five years, Alan has become an integral part of all aspects of both Got Books and the Used Book Superstore. As the ‘go-to’ person for virtually every one of the company’s nearly 100 employees, Alan is responsible for overseeing and managing all company operations. As he has seen the company grow and evolve dramatically in his years on the team, his inside perspective has become vital in the future planning and development of the company.

Joe Belanger
District Manager

Hired in August of 2010, Joe comes to the company with more than a decade of retail management experience at Barnes and Noble.  As the District Manager, Joe currently oversees the Store Managers at each of our Used Book Superstore locations and has been instrumental in helping to standardize operations and best practices across all stores. Joe’s extensive professional experience in the bookselling industry has been indispensable to the company’s development of new procedures, programs and sales ventures.

Dianne McDermott
Director of Marketing

Dianne’s mission within the company is to increase awareness of the Got Books and Used Book Superstore brand through online and offline channels. The company recognizes the positive impact marketing has on both the number of donations received and the number of sales processed at our Used Book Superstores. A huge focus is placed on the marketing of the brand and the company has successfully invested in both traditional and new media to further this success.
