Music at the Used Book Superstore

Literature and music go hand in hand, so we make sure to keep a full stock of each in our stores. Music lovers of all ages will find something to fawn over at the Used Book Superstore, and at our everyday low prices filling up a bag is budget-friendly too! Our vast media selection includes music in both CD and record formats.

Records

Records are currently sold in our Salem, Danvers and Burlington stores and they have an overwhelmingly loyal following! Many vinyl nuts flock to our stores each week to see what we’re putting out because the selection is completely new every single week. New records go out in Salem on Thursdays, in Danvers on Fridays and in Burlington on Saturdays. These items are NEVER picked through or pre-scanned in any way, which makes them incredibly exciting because you never know what you might find here. We’ve sold highly collectible and valuable records here for just a few dollars or less, like the rare ‘Butcher Cover’ of the Beatles’ Yesterday & Today and a Bruce Springsteen record valued at $1,000.00. Records are priced on a sliding scale, which decreases through the week. On the first day (which varies by store) the price is $4.00, then $3.00 on day 2 and 3, $2.00 on day 4, $1.00 on day 5 and 6, down to just 50¢ on day 7. Then the selection is cleared, making space for a whole new batch of records.

CDs

We also sell CDs at each of our stores (with the exception of our Saugus store) for just $2.00 or less. Like the records, these items are priced on a sliding scale which lowers the cost the longer the item is for sale.  CDs start out at only $2.00 and then the price drops to $1.00 after one week and 50¢ after two weeks. New selections are added and old selections are removed on a weekly basis, maintaining a fresh mix of new and used albums filling the shelves. With everything from classical to punk, country to soul and rock to hip hop we’re sure to have something for every music lover. A special section of 50¢ CDs is available in our Salem store.
