“Got Books Great Book Giveaway” Provides Access to Books and Promotes Literacy
Wilmington, MA August 25, 2011 – Got Books, Inc. the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England has announced that in conjunction with its sister company Used Book Superstore in Salem NH, the Arlington Elementary School in Lawrence MA is the latest recipient of a “Got Books Great Book Giveaway” and will receive a gift of 750 books to be used to stock 38 classroom libraries at the school. The value of the gift to the school exceeds $5,000.
Maggie Reedy, a teacher at the Arlington Elementary School comments, “I am a P.E. teacher of five-hundred energetic, full of life students who live in a low socio-economic area and attend an inner city school. Unfortunately, most of my students do not have access to books on a regular basis. We need help to raise our students’ reading and math scores. This important book donation will help load up the classrooms with new and exciting books for students to get interested and excited in reading again.”
The books will be delivered to the Arlington Elementary School in Lawrence on August 2x, 2011 directly from Got Books, Inc. in Wilmington.
“This is our 10th Great Book Give Away this year – that represents about 10,000 books donated directly to elementary schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We are proud to help ensure that children have the opportunity to have books available to them,” comments Bob Ticehurst, CEO and founder of Got Books, Inc. and the Used Book Superstores. “The Got Books book collection programs have returned over $1.1 million back to our nearly 450 non profit partners – many of whom are schools.”
